Symbolic fire
Every original work begins in deliberate disorder. Layers of impasto oil, patinated copper, and graphite shavings are broken down and rebuilt until a striking pictorial equilibrium emerges from the texture.
The phoenix motif serves as our silent anchor—a reminder that permanence requires destruction, and that true museum-grade fine art must carry the weight of both history and rebirth.

Mpumalanga studio
The curiosity cabinet
Far from sterile white galleries, the Barberton workshop operates as an artist's curiosity cabinet. Weathered timber surfaces hold jars of rusted iron pigment, gold leaf sheets, and century-old mechanical fragments waiting to be bound to canvas.
Artist statement
We do not paint what is passive; we forge art from rust, fire, and raw canvas.
